Home > Gas Cleaning > Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for de NOx

SCR is used to clean industrial exhaust air of NOx pollutants, particularly NO and NO2. SCR uses a combination of ammonia and catalyst to achieve highly efficient NOx destruction whilst minimizing operating costs. Most of the NOx is broken down and recombined with ammonia to produce nitrogen and water vapour, which can safely be vented to atmosphere. EGL uses a catalyst and system design sourced from CRI Catalyst Company, a subsidiary of Shell. The unique CRI design in comparison with conventional designs results in high reaction rates, very low pressure drop and high activity at far lower temperatures.

Typical applications are on nitric acid plants and gas turbines in the power generation industry.
